Training Update:

Training hasn't been great over the last week. Due to my birthday it was difficult to fit a long ride in at the weekend (especially when hungover). I did however get out for an hour on the Sunday evening through at the Circuit in Middlesbrough. Really enjoyed this as I had the complete circuit to myself for an hour. Although it was a little bit difficult to find motivation to go quick especially into a stiff head wind when riding alone.
I also joined the gym this week with the intentions of getting in there when time allows to start working on some core stability and get back into a strength training programme that has been lacking for some time now. Im really impressed by the new gym. There is some fantatic machines, all brand new. this is something my previous gym lacked, the equipment was becoming extremely dated. They also have two state of the art Power Plate machines which I had never used before until Tuesday. They seem fantastic, I think they will really help with recover after rides, encouraging more blood flow around the body and reducing swelling.

I am as I write this blog I'm starting to get a little nervous about what is in store for me tonight. I am signed up to take part in my first ever official race! A circuit race around the new track at Prissick Base in Middlesbrough. This involves 25 minutes of racing plus 2 additional laps to finish. I really don't know what to expect and hope I can keep up with the others. I will let you know how I get on with a blog tomorrow.

Also looks like James is finally going to be free to starting hitting the roads again from this weekend. So a route needs planning to ease us both back in for Saturday morning. We really now need to start focusing on the training as although I feel I now have a good base level of fitness there is still a long way to go before June 11th and the time is ticking away.
